Valtellina is located in the heart of the Alps in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It consists of 3 main cycling regions - Bormio, Santa Caterina and Livigno.

Valtellina is a beautiful, wide and long valley bordering Switzerland. It starts at the Northern tip of Lake Como and it stretches North-East along the River Adda up to the Ortles-Cevedale mountain range with its impressive glaciers and the famous Stelvio Pass.

Today it is known for its ski areas in winter and cycling trails in summer like the epic Stelvio and Gavia. Often the backdrop of famous stages of the Giro d' Italia.

Not to mention the hot spring spas, its food and wine. In past centuries it was a key thoroughfare between northern Italy and Germany and control of the Valtellina was much sought after.

Main centres are Morbegno, Sondrio and Tirano.

Sport, good food, culture, history, tradition and thermal baths and spas used since Roman times can all be found in Alta Valtellina.....the heart of the Alps
